 मातृहीन,पितृहीन ,गुणहीन,धनहीन,  गृहहीन, उदासीन, विपिन बिहारी है । शीशगंग , भालचंद्र, नेत्रलाल,कंठव्याल  भस्मयुक्त, नग्नतन , जटाजूट धारी है । भूतेश्वर, नागेश्वर, डमरू त्रिशूलधर , असुचि का घर , बैल उसकी सवारी है  सत्यम शिवम सुंदरम उसे कहे वेद  कन्या का तुम्हारी वही शिव अधिकारी है ।  meaning यह एक श्लोक है, जिसे पार्वती के पिता हिमवान ने कहा था, जब उन्हें पता चला कि पार्वती को शिव से शादी करनी है। इसका रचयिता कोई निश्चित नहीं है, पर यह माना जाता है कि यह शिव पुराण में प्रसिद्ध हुआ है। इस श्लोक का अर्थ है: माँ से हीन, पिता से हीन, गुणों से हीन, धन से हीन, घर से हीन, उदासीन, वन में रहने वाला है। सिर पर गंगा, माथे पर चंद्रमा, आँखों में लालिमा, कंठ में सर्प हैं। भस्म से सन्न, नग्नतन, जटाजूट से सुशोभित है। भूतों का स्वामी, नागों का स्वामी, डमरू और त्रिशूल को पकड़े हुए हैं। मलिन का घर, बैल  की  सवारी करते हैं। सत्यम्, शिवम्, सुंदरम् - उसे कहते हैं वेद।  कन्या का तुम्हारी वही शिव अधिकारी है  (पति -उसी- को -प्राप्त- होगा) ।
